FLEXEMG

Project designation
FLEXEMG: Exploring Flexible Printed Circuits for Wearable Muscle Sensors
Resume
Flexible and stretchable printable electronics represent a promising research technology with applications in health, human-machine interaction, robotics, sensors, and consumer electronics. Using cost-effective printing solutions based on Silver nanoparticle based inks, the goal of the project is to explore the prototyping of electrodes for surface electromyography (sEMG) to record muscular activity on the forearm and assess its viability compared to traditional Ag/AgCl electrodes. The integration of sEMG thin-film printed electrodes may not only enhance user comfort and skin contact (wearability) but also offer the potential for low-cost and scalable fabrication. This can contribute to using sEMG more effectively to control prosthetic and rehabilitation devices.
